Among the radio access systems most promising and rapidly developing is the international system of DECT standard.

DECT radio standard (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunication) is a dynamically developing technology in the field of communications. It has been developed by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) to provide radio access to any type of network. The undoubted advantages of DECT are broadcast signal with digital voice quality, high protection against eavesdropping and the appearance of doubles, more air capacity, noise immunity. Low power of mobile phones (10 mW) provides users with high environmental safety.
Due to developed production technology, competitive prices and high stability, "MiniCom-DECT" provides operators with economic, reliable, convenient and quick option to ensure subscriber access. "MiniCom-DECT" is made in "MiniCom-DECT-DMC" and "MiniCom-DECT-DWLL-200" configurations.

Composition of the system
Subscriber radio system "MiniCom-DECT-DMC" includes:
· base equipment: base station controller (BSC) "MiniCom DMC-CS-1U", base stations (BS) "MiniCom DMC-BS", antennas, DECT-repeater "MiniCom - Repeater", operator workstation (OWS).
· subscriber equipment: terminal subscriber radio unit (TSRU) DT-20, subscriber antenna, analog phones and fax machines, modems.
Base equipment
Base station controller (BSC)
Base station controller "MiniCom DMC-CS-1U" is designed to control the entire radio system. In this configuration, BSC is placed in a standard 19" enclosure and one or two E1 trunks with EDSS1, 2BCK (R1, 5), v5.2 protocols and can be connected to PABX of any manufacturer.
The controller in the base PABX supports from 1 to 8 base stations, providing communication to 512 subscribers. Due to the compact and simple design it allows quick and flexible deployment, and able to remove controller and base stations on a digital transport network, makes it an ideal solution for telephone penetration in, for example, villages and housing estates.
Base station (BS)
Base station "MiniCom DMC-BS" is designed to provide a radio channel providing access to subscriber terminals. Base stations are connected to the controller by four-pair cable via E1 interface. BS may be removed on the physical lines or digital communication systems.
DECT standard has 120 time-frequency channels (10 frequencies x 12 time slots) on radio. When operating a BS, it can access any of 120 channels. For outdoor use base stations installed in a special heating cabinet, which allows them to operate in a temperature range from -50°C to +40°C. BS provides up to 12 simultaneous conversations.
Operator workstation (OWS)
Operator workstation is designed to provide the operator to configure, manage, and diagnose the system. There are opportunities to control the system remotely: via Dial-Up-modem or IP-based networks, using an interface converter RS-232 with TCP / IP (Ethernet) network protocol.
Operator can:
- Monitor the base equipment and subscriber terminals;
- Prescribe (remove) terminal subscriber radio units;
- Automatically inquire devices in the system;
- Receive the signals of emergency situations in the system;
- Perform an upgrade of the system.
The software registers, stores and sorts the following information:
· date and time of call;
· duration of call;
· incoming, outgoing calls;
· load on the base station;
· load on the system as a whole;
· status of each base station.
Subscriber equipment
Terminal subscriber radio unit (TSRU)
TSRU "MiniCom DT-20" is designed to provide radio access to subscribers to telephone and IP network. It allows the system to connect different types of telephones (with frequency or pulse dialing), fax machines, and computers via Dial-Up-modem or data transfer adapter (DTA).
A distinctive feature and additional convenience for users is uninterruptible power supply unit built in "MiniCom DT-20", which allows to maintain system availability in the event of a temporary power failure. In the standard output power of 10 mW "MiniCom DT-20" ensures stable operation of the system at a distance of 10 km from the base station of "MiniCom-DECT" system. Terminal subscriber radio units "MiniCom DT-20" are used in "MiniCom-DECT-DMC" system and "MiniCom-DECT-DWLL-200".
Antennas
"MiniCom-DECT-DMC" and "MiniCom-DECT-DWLL-200" use various types of antennas that allow the organized system to be technically and economically viable depending on the specific project.
Data transfer
To transfer data within "MiniCom-DECT-DMC" Dial-Up-modem for analog lines is used. The availability of such data transfer mode allows the subscriber of DECT-systems to work the same way as using traditional wired network at the rate of up to 56 Kbps. The subscriber may use the services of any Internet provider of your choice.
Composition of "MiniCom-DECT-DWLL-200" equipment
The system is designed for installation of telephones in small settlements. The system capacity is up to 200 subscribers.

Subscriber radio system "MiniCom-DECT-DWLL-200" includes:
· Base equipment: base radio unit (BRU) "MiniCom DWLL-200", remote access server "MiniCom-RAS", antennas, DECT-repeater "MiniCom - Repeater", operator workstation (OWS).
· Subscriber equipment: data transfer adapter (DTA) "MiniCom DTA-20", analog phones and fax machines, personal computers, subscriber antenna.
Base equipment
Base radio unit (BRU)
BRU "MiniCom DWLL-200" is a highly integrated device that is functionally equivalent to the classic BS controller and two 10-channel base stations. Electromagnetic compatibility with cellular radio systems GSM 1800 and radio link equipment is available with built-in version of the high-frequency filters (see photo).
The system provides up to 20 simultaneous conversations. The radio is placed in heating cabinet, allowing to install BRU outdoors. Connecting two sets of external antennas provides flexible configuration of coverage area. As a result, one area may have several systems. To do this, their synchronization is provided. With small dimensions and low weight the system installation and choice of location is simplified. Base radio unit has low power consumption (20 W). BRU can be operated in a temperature range from -50°C to +55°C.
This arrangement reduces the cost of the system based on one subscriber and the use of BRU "DWLL-200" with a capacity of several tens of subscribers is economically justified.
Remote Access Server
Remote access server "MiniCom-RAS" in the subscriber radio system (SRS) "MiniCom-DECT-DWLL-200" with the function of supporting digital access to IP-based networks is designed for:
· access of SRS subscribers to the existing data network using data transfer adapter "MiniCom DTA -20" and TSRU "MiniCom DT-20";
· switching of SRS telephone subscribers to PSTN network.
Remote access server is an industrial computer configured based on 19-inch enclosure.
Server functions:
1. Appointment of dynamic or static IP-addresses;
2. Access to Ethernet network;
3. Access to the public telephone network.
Data transfer adapter
Data transfer adapter (DTA) "MiniCom DTA-20" is designed to provide information transfer between PC with standard interfaces RS-232 or USB and TSRU "MiniCom DT-20".
Operator workstation (OWS)
OWS is designed to configure, control and monitor "MiniCom-DECT-DWLL-200". It connects to the system through public network by a/b lines via Dial-Up-modem or IP-network. There is the capability to control the system via radio channel using TSRU "MiniCom DT-20". Since the operator is not bound to a place where the controller is installed, from any place where it is possible to connect to the public network or where TSRU "MiniCom DT-20" is installed, the operator can:
- Monitor the base equipment and subscriber terminals;
- Prescribe (remove) terminal subscriber radio units;
- Automatically inquire devices in the system;
- Receive the signals of emergency situations in the system;
- Perform an upgrade of the system.

Data transfer
Along with the data transfer using Dial-Up-modem "MiniCom-DECT-DWLL-200" implements digital scheme of data transfer with connection of a computer to subscriber radio unit via data transfer adapter. "Single-slot" mode achieves Internet access rate of up to 32 Kbps, and "dual-slot" - up to 64 Kbps. The advantage of such a scheme, from the point of view of the operator, is a division of voice and IP traffic directly at the output of the base radio unit using the remote access server "MiniCom-RAS". On the one hand, it prevents overloading of switching equipment, and on the other, allows the operator to be the only one available Internet provider to the subscriber of radio access system, providing additional income from the provision of this service.
DECT-Repeater
"MiniCom-Repeater" is designed to increase the coverage area of the radio channel and the organization of radio channel between BS and TSRU in non-line-of-sight between them.
Technical specifications of "MiniCom-Repeater":
· Operating power - 20 W.
· Operating temperature range from -50°C to +55°C
· External power supply with voltage of 48 V.
· Repeater provides up to 10 simultaneous connections.
The maximum distance from the repeater to the base station is 10 km, from the repeater to the TSRU "MiniCom DT-20" receiving antenna is 10 km.
Additional equipment
HF-filter
Often a convenient place to put BS, BRU or DECT-repeater is masts that already have two-way radio devices.
For electromagnetic compatibility with GSM1800 systems and radio relay equipment in "MiniCom DWLL-200", "MiniCom DMC-BS", "MiniCom-Repeater" a compact high-frequency bandpass HF-filter is used. It provides effective suppression of interference from base stations of cellular communication systems and radio relay equipment.
